Where Couples Take Their Pictures

Every picture on this page was taken at Spring Haven, a few hundred yards from Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville. The two-story house was built in the early 1800s, around 1825, by John and Polly Wagnon, and its formal parlors, front doors and portico steps turn up again and again below.

Outside are a cabin from around 1800, a natural spring with its spring house, the original smoke house, a barn and a covered terrace that holds up to 125 guests. Couples pose by the spring, in the gardens, under the trees, in the barn and in front of the mansion. The owners add pictures here themselves as weddings happen. Questions About Photos at Spring Haven

Where on the property do couples take their photos?

Down by the spring, in the gardens, by the trees and greenery, in the barn, in front of the mansion and inside it. Most of the pictures on this page were taken in one of those places.

Can we use the inside of the mansion for pictures?

Yes. All three wedding collections include exclusive use of the lower level of the mansion, the historic cabin and the dressing areas, so the parlors are yours for getting ready and for portraits. The packages page lists what each collection includes.

Do the elopement packages come with a photographer?

Every one does: a professional photographer with edited images, high-resolution digital downloads and an online gallery. Just Married comes with 25 to 50 photos and Friends & Family Plus with 200 to 250; the elopements page has the counts for the other three.

How old is the house in these photos?

It was built in the early 1800s, around 1825, as the home of John Wagnon, Andrew Jackson’s personal physician, and his wife Polly. The cabin on the grounds is older, from around 1800. The About page tells the story.
